About Huddersfield Ramblers

Welcome to walking with Huddersfield Ramblers!

We are a local group of the national Ramblers' Association. Our friendly, committed members work to support the interests of everyone in South Kirklees who enjoys the countryside on foot. From guided walks to dealing with footpath problems, our activities give walkers a voice. They also offer the chance to meet others of like mind in a sociable, inclusive and fun atmosphere.

We provide a guided "A" walk of at least 10 miles every Sunday. We also frequently offer shorter, easier Sunday "B" walks. On one Saturday per month, our "A+" grade walk (usually 15 miles or over) attracts fitter, energetic walkers. On Tuesday evenings between May and August, we also offer walks of up to 5 miles, all near Huddersfield. A perfect way of relaxing and enjoying the lighter evenings.

A good proportion of our walks are local to Huddersfield. Our nearby countryside never disappoints. However, walks in other areas frequently provide the opportunity to explore further afield. The Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales and other parts of the South Pennines are all regular haunts.

Why not try one of our walks? Members of other Ramblers groups and non-members are very welcome to join us on all of our walks, but please read about our walks gradings and other useful info by clicking Points to Note on the right of this page. (You can see it on a mobile by clicking View web version.). Non-members usually decide to join the Ramblers after attending a few walks, to enjoy all the benefits that membership has to offer.

You can view our walks programme by clicking Forthcoming Walks, also on the right of this page. All our walks are circular unless stated otherwise.

A warm welcome is assured!

Please visit our blog for late changes to our walks.
